FAQs

Have questions about renting a dumpster in Flint or surrounding areas with Dump Dog? Here are the most frequently asked questions we receive from customers:

Can I get a dumpster tomorrow?

Typically, yes! As soon as you are ready for a dumpster, give Dump Dog a call at 1-833-DUMPDOG, or visit our Rent Now page to book either a 15-yard or 30-yard dumpster. We will work with you to find the delivery date that works best for you.

What types of materials are allowed?

There are thousands of items that can be thrown away using Dump Dog. Below is a list of common items.

  • Appliances*
  • Mattresses
  • Household items
  • Construction waste
  • Yard waste
  • Trash
  • Furniture
  • Hot tub & pools
  • Wood & concrete

*Refrigerator disposal requires a certified and licensed technician to safely drain the gases and label the fridge for proper disposal.

Please note that we cannot accept paints, solvents, liquids, aerosols, refrigerators , tires, fluorescent bulbs, or other hazardous waste. If prohibited materials are discovered at the landfill, you will be responsible for fines and clean-up fees.

Tip: If you have paint, dry it out with absorbent materials (like kitty litter). Hardened paint is fine.

Is it cheaper to get a dumpster or go to the dump?

In most cases, dumpster rentals often save more money and allow you to remove all of your waste at once. Trash hauling typically takes multiple trips, and you have to pay for each load, rather than paying a flat price.

Can I extend my time?

In most cases, yes. If you find you need additional time, please call 1-833-DUMPDOG, and we can arrange for a later pickup date.

What if I go over weight?

We understand that it is sometimes hard to judge the amount of waste you have when it comes to filling your dumpster. Once the dumpster is picked up and weighed, if your load is over the included tonnage, an additional $50 per ton is added to your final bill. Unfortunately, we cannot tell you at the time of pick up if the load is overweight.

To make sure you don’t go over weight, avoid overloading with heavy items like soil, concrete, asphalt, or stone. Don’t fill the dumpster more than halfway with these types of materials. If the dumpster is too heavy, you may need to remove some materials.

Tip: If you’re disposing of clean soil, concrete, or asphalt, let us know. We have cheaper disposal options for these materials if they’re not mixed with other debris.

Is it okay if items stick out of the top of the dumpster?

No. Do not fill the dumpster above the top line. This can damage the tarp and cause road hazards. It is your responsibility to reposition or remove items above the top line.

If the load is too high, there will be an additional $100 fee for repositioning and securing the load. Please load the dumpster evenly to ensure the tarp system works properly and avoid excess weight or potential damage during transportation.

Do you offer special pricing for contractors?

Yes! If you’re a contractor or need dumpsters for high-volume projects, we offer special rates specifically for these types of projects. Just give us a call at 1-833-DUMP-DOG, and we’ll get you a quote.
